AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7397; (P) 0.7419; (R1) 0.7454; More…

AUD/USD is staying in consolidation from 0.7309 and intraday bias remains neutral. On the downside, break of 0.7309 and sustained trading below 0.7328 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 0.6826 to 0.8135 at 0.7326) will extend the fall from 0.8135 to 0.7158 support next. On the upside, above 0.7483 resistance will bring stronger rebound. But upside should be limited below 0.7676 resistance to bring larger fall resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 is seen as a corrective move that should be completed at 0.8135. Deeper decline would be seen back to retest 0.6826 low. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.7676 resistance holds.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7422; (P) 0.7440; (R1) 0.7468; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is mildly on the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.7394). Sustained break there will argue that rebound from 0.7105 is complete with three waves up to 0.7555. That would also argue that fall from 0.8006 is ready to resume through 0.7105 low. On the upside, break of 0.7555 will turn bias back to the upside and resume the rebound instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.6991 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.7051) intact, we’re seeing price action from 0.8006 as a correction only. That is, up trend from 0.5506 low would resume after the correction completes. In that case, main focus will be 0.8135 key resistance (2018 high). Sustained break there will carry larger bullish implications. However, sustained break of 0.6991 will argue that the whole medium term trend has indeed reversed.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral at this point. Corrective fall from 0.8006 could extend lower. Break of 0.7562 will target 100% projection of 0.8006 to 0.7620 from 0.7848 at 0.7462. We’ll look for strong support from there to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 0.7848 resistance is needed to confirm completion of the correction. Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.1079 (2001 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. Rise from 0.5506 could either be the start of a long term up trend, or a corrective rise. Reactions to 0.8135 key resistance will reveal which case it is. But in any case, medium term rally is expected to continue as long as 0.7413 resistance turned support holds.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD’s rebound last week argues that a short term bottom was formed at 0.6828, on bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Initial bias is mildly on the upside this week for 55 day EMA (now at 0.7187). On the downside, though, break of 0.6948 will resume larger fall from 0.8006 through 0.6828 low, and target 0.6756/60 medium term fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Deeper fall could be seen to 50% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6756. This coincides with 100% projection of 0.8006 to 0.7105 from 0.7660 at 0.6760. Strong support is expected from 0.6756/60 cluster to contain downside to complete the correction. However, sustained break of 0.6756/60 would argue that AUD/USD is indeed already in a medium term down trend.

In the longer term picture, focus remains on 0.8135 structural resistance. Decisive break there will argue that rise from 0.5506 is developing into a long term up trend that reverses whole down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). However, rejection by 0.8135 will keep long term outlook neutral at best.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6925; (P) 0.6958; (R1) 0.7014; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral as range trading continues. Corrective rebound from 0.6680 could have completed with three waves up to 0.7135. Below 0.6855 will target a retest on 0.6680 low. However, break of 0.7135 will invalidate this view and resume the rebound from 0.6680 instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 (2021 high) is seen more as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Or it could also be a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7282 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6804; (P) 0.6837; (R1) 0.6861; More…

AUD/USD’s break of 0.6807 suggests that corrective rise from 0.6677 has completed with three waves to 0.6894. Intraday bias is back on the downside for retesting 0.6677 first. Break will resume larger down trend. For now, risk will stays on the downside as long as 0.6894 holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming the long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Next target is 0.6008 (2008 low). On the upside, break of 0.7082 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7294; (P) 0.7319; (R1) 0.7345; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains cautiously on the upside with focus on 0.7314 key resistance. Sustained break of 0.7314 resistance will indicate medium term reversal. Further rally should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 0.8135 to 0.7020 at 0.7446 next. Nevertheless, failure to sustain above 0.7314, and break of 0.7199 support will retain bearishness and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 0.7020 low.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD’s decline from 0.8135 could have completed at 0.7020 already, ahead of 0.6826 key support (2016 low). Decisive break of 0.7314 will confirm and bring strong rebound. But for now, we’d expect strong resistance from 0.7500 support turned resistance to limit upside. Medium term fall from 0.8135 should extend to take on 0.6826 low at a later stage.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6468; (P) 0.6503; (R1) 0.6526; More….

Intraday bias in back on the downside with breach of 0.6484 support. Retest of 0.6442 should be seen next. Firm break there will resume whole decline from 0.6870 and target 61.8% projection of 0.6870 to 0.6442 from 0.6666 at 0.6401. On the upside, above 0.6538 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral again.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which might still be in progress. Overall, sideway trading could continue in range of 0.6169/7156 for some more time. But as long as 0.7156 holds, an eventual downside breakout would be mildly in favor.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD edged higher to 0.7890 last week but retreated sharply from there. Though, downside was contained above 0.7673 support. Initial bias remains neutral for this week and further rise is still expected. On the upside, above 0.7890 will resume the rally from 0.7530 to retest 0.8006 high. However, firm break of 0.7673 support should extend the correction from 0.8006 with another falling leg. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.7530 support and possibly below.

In the longer term picture, 0.5506 is a long term bottom, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Focus is now back on 0.8135 structural resistance. Decisive break there will raise the chance that rise from 0.5506 is an impulsive up trend. Next target should be 61.8% retracement at 0.8950 of 1.1079 to 0.5506 and above. Though, rejection by 0.8135 will keep the case of medium to long term sideway consolidation open.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD stays neutral as range trading continues. On the downside, break of 0.6641 support should indicate short term topping, following rejection by 0.6871 fibonacci level. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for 0.6521 resistance turned support first. However, sustained break of 0.6871 will extend the rise from 0.6169 towards 55 week EMA at 0.6922.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom is in place at 0.6160 already. But it’s too early to call for trend reversal. Nevertheless, even as a corrective move, rise from 0.6169 should target 38.2% retracement of 0.8006 to 0.6169 at 0.6871. Sustained trading above 55 week EMA (now at 0.6922) will raise the chance of the start of a bullish up trend. However, rejection by 0.6781 or 55 week EMA, followed by 0.6521 resistance turned support and retain medium term bearishness.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 0.6713. Further rally is expected as long as 0.6578 support holds. As noted before, fall from 0.6870 has probably completed with three waves down to 0.6361 already. Above 0.6713 will target 0.6870 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which could have completed at 0.6269 already. Rise from there is seen as the third leg which is now trying to resume through 0.6870 resistance.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the upside at this point. Rebound from 0.7005 is in progress for retesting 0.7413 high. Decisive break there will resume larger rise form 0.5506 to 0.7635 fibonacci level. On the downside, break of 0.7095 support is needed to indicate completion of the rebound. Otherwise near term outlook will stay mildly bearish in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, while rebound from 0.5506 was strong, there is not enough evidence to confirm bullish trend reversal yet. That is, it could be just a corrective inside the long term up trend. Sustained trading back below 55 week EMA (now at 0.6898) will favor the bearish case and argue that the rebound has completed. Focus will be turned back to 0.5506 low. On the upside, break of 0.7413 will extend the rise from 0.5506 to 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 (2011 high) to 0.5506 (2020 low) at 0.7635.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral at this point. Consolidation from 0.7054 is still in progress. Stronger rise could be seen but upside should be limited well below 0.7295 resistance to bring another decline. We’re holding on to the view that rebound from 0.6722 has completed at 0.7295 already. On the downside, break of 0.7054 will turn bias to the downside for 61.8% retracement of 0.6722 to 0.7295 at 0.6941 next.

In the bigger picture, as long as 0.7393 resistance holds, we’d treat fall from 0.8135 as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Decisive break of 0.6826 (2016 low) will confirm this bearish view and resume the down trend to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, firm break of 0.7393 will argue that fall from 0.8135 has completed. And corrective pattern from 0.6826 has started the third leg, targeting 0.8135 again.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the upside. Current rebound from 0.7020 medium term bottom should target 38.2% retracement of 0.8135 to 0.7020 at 0.7446 and above. On the downside, break of 0.7284 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But near term outlook will stay bullish as long as 0.7199 support holds.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD’s decline from 0.8135 should have completed at 0.7020 already, ahead of 0.6826 key support (2016 low). Stronger rebound should be seen. But still, we’d expect strong resistance from 0.7500 support turned resistance to limit upside. Medium term fall from 0.8135 should extend to take on 0.6826 low at a later stage.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral first. With 0.6213 support intact, further rise is mildly in favor. On the upside, break of 0.6444 will extend the rebound from 0.5506 to 100% projection of 0.5506 to 0.6213 from 0.5979 at 0.6686, which is close to 0.6684 key resistance. On the downside, break of 0.6213 resistance turned support will argue that such rebound has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.5979 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, there is no clear sign of trend reversal yet. The larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in favor to extend. 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507 is already met. Sustained break there will pave the way to 0.4773 (2001 low). On the upside, break of 0.6670 support turned resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 0.7411 is extending. Above 0.7566 will bring stronger recovery. But upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 0.8135 to 0.7144 at 0.7688 to bring decline resumption. On the downside, break of 0.7411 will resume the fall from 0.8135 and target cluster support at 0.7328 (61.8% retracement of 0.6826 to 0.8135 at 0.7326).

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 is seen as a corrective move. Decisive break of 0.7500 key support suggests that such correction is completed at 0.8135. Deeper decline would be seen back to retest 0.6826 low. In case of another rise, we’d expect strong resistance from 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451 to limit upside to bring long term down trend resumption eventually.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7786; (P) 0.7805; (R1) 0.7822; More…

AUD/USD’s rise from 0.7500 is still in progress. Intraday bias stays on the upside for 0.7896 cluster resistance (61.8% retracement of 0.8124 to 0.7500 at 0.7886). On the downside, break of 0.7694 support is needed to indicate completion of the rebound. Otherwise, further rally will remain in favor in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, we’re still slightly favoring the case that corrective rise from 0.6826 medium term bottom is likely completed at 0.8124, after hitting 55 month EMA (now at 0.8034). But stronger than expected rebound from 0.7500 is dampening this bearish view. On the downside, break of 0.7500 will target 0.7328 key cluster support (61.8% retracement 0.6826 to 0.8124 at 0.7322) to confirm this bearish case. But break of 0.8124 will extend the rise from 0.6826 to 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 (2011 high) to 0.6826 (2016 low) at 0.8451 before completion.

AUD/USD 4 Hours Chart

AUD/USD Daily Chart

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD stays in consolidation below 0.7243 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. As long as 0.7076 support holds, another rally could still be see. Break of 07243 will resume larger rise from 0.5506. Nevertheless, considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 0.7076 support should confirm short term topping. In this case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.6776 support.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 0.5506 medium term bottom could be correcting whole long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Further rally would be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7311). This will remain the preferred case as long as it stays above 55 week EMA (now at 0.6804). However, sustained trading below 55 week EMA will turn focus back to 0.5506 low instead.

In the longer term picture, there is no change in the view that down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in progress. Such down trend could extend through 0.5506 low after completing the corrective rise from there. However, sustained break of 55 month EMA (now at 0.7311) will raise the chance of long term reversal and turn focus back to 0.8135 key resistance.

AUD/USD’s break of 0.6962 minor support suggests that corrective recovery from 0.6864 has completed earlier than expected at 0.7022. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for 0.6864 low first. Decisive break there will resume whole fall from 0.7295. On the upside, break of 0.7022 will resume the rebound to 0.7069 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7393 key resistance intact, medium term outlook remains bearish. The decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high).

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. We’d continue to expect strong resistance from 0.6662 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement from 0.7031 to 0.6433 at 0.6661) to limit upside. Break of 0.6509 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 0.6433 low. Nevertheless, break of 0.6662 will bring stronger corrective rise to 61.8% retracement at 0.6803.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD’s decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still in progress. It’s part of the larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Rejection by 55 week EMA affirms medium term bearishness. Next target is 0.6008 (2008 low). Outlook will stay bearish as long as 0.7031 resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound.
