AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7689; (P) 0.7733; (R1) 0.7806; More…

AUD/USD’s rally resumed after brief consolidation and intraday bias is back on the upside. Current up trend from 0.5506 should target 61.8% projection of 0.5506 to 0.7413 from 0.6991 at 0.8170 next. On the downside, break of 0.7641 support is needed to be the first sign of short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.1079 (2001 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. Rise form 0.5506 could either the start of a long term up trend, or a corrective rise. Reactions to 0.8135 key resistance will reveal which case it is.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7090; (P) 0.7125; (R1) 0.7144; More…

No change in AUD/USD’s outlook. Corrective rise from 0.7040 is still in progress and further rise cannot be ruled out. But upside should be limited well below 0.7314 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, below 0.7098 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 0.7040 low first. Break there will resume recent down trend to 61.8% projection of 0.7676 to 0.7084 from 0.7314 at 0.6948 next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 0.8135 is tentatively treated as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Decisive break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 key support next (2008 low). However, break of 0.7500 support turned resistance will argue that the corrective pattern from 0.6826 is going to extend with another rising leg before completion.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6696; (P) 0.6749; (R1) 0.6851; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the upside at this point. Decisive break of 0.6826 will carry larger bullish implication. Rise from 0.5506 should target 0.7031 resistance next. On the downside, though, break of 0.6567 support will indicate rejection by 0.6826. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.6402 support instead.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 0.5506 is stronger than expected, we’re seeing it as corrective the fall from 0.8135 only (2018 high) to 0.5506. Strong resistance should be seen from 0.6826 (2016 low) to limit upside. However, sustained break of 0.6826 will argue that rise from 0.5506 is at least correcting the fall from 1.1079 (2011 high). Stronger rally would be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7365).

AUD/USD Daily Report

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral at this point. On the upside, above 0.6569 will extend the rebound from 0.5506 and target 0.6670 key resistance. On the downside, break of 0.6372 support should confirm short term reversal and bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.6569 at 0.6163 first.

In the bigger picture, there is no clear sign of trend reversal yet. The larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in favor to extend. 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507 is already met. Sustained break there will pave the way to 0.4773 (2001 low). On the upside, however, sustained break of 0.6607 will suggest medium term bottoming and turn focus to 0.7031 resistance next.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD stays neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the upside, break of 0.7837 will suggest that the correction from 0.8006 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting this high. On the downside, below 0.7620 will target 0.7563 support. Firm break of 0.7563 will indicate that deeper correction is underway, back towards 0.7413 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.1079 (2001 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. Rise from 0.5506 could either be the start of a long term up trend, or a corrective rise. Reactions to 0.8135 key resistance will reveal which case it is. But in any case, medium term rally is expected to continue as long as 0.7413 resistance turned support holds.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7043; (P) 0.7076; (R1) 0.7094; More…

AUD/USD’s breach of 0.7060 temporary low suggests fall resumption. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside. Rebound from 0.6722 should have completed at 0.7295 already. Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement of 0.6722 to 0.7295 at 0.6941 next. On the upside, break of 0.7107 will bring recovery. But upside should be limited below 0.7295 resistance to bring another fall.

In the bigger picture, as long as 0.7393 resistance holds, we’d treat fall from 0.8135 as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Decisive break of 0.6826 (2016 low) will confirm this bearish view and resume the down trend to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, firm break of 0.7393 will argue that fall from 0.8135 has completed. And corrective pattern from 0.6826 has started the third leg, targeting 0.8135 again.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD’s strong rebound last week argues that correction from 0.7819 has completed at 0.7563. Further rise is expected this week as long as 0.7681 support holds. Firm break of 0.7819 will resume larger up trend from 0.5506, for 61.8% projection of 0.6991 to 0.7819 from 0.7563 at 0.8075. On the downside, break of 0.7681 minor support will delay the bullish case and extend the correction from 0.7819 with another fall.

In the longer term picture, 0.5506 is a long term bottom, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Focus is now back on 0.8135 structure resistance. Decisive break there will rise the chance that rise from 0.5506 is an impulsive up trend. Next target should be 61.8% retracement at 0.8950 and above. Though, rejection by 0.8135 will keep the case of medium to long term sideway consolidation open.

AUD/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7766; (P) 0.7825; (R1) 0.7856; More…

AUD/USD’s fall from 0.7915 extends to as low as 0.7750 so far in early US session. Break of 0.7772 minor support confirms completion of the rebound from 0.7712. More importantly, fall from 0.8135 is now resuming. Intraday bias is now on the downside for 0.7712 first. Break will pave the way to 0.7500 key support. On the upside, break of 0.7915 is now needed to indicate near term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 is seen as a corrective move. It might still extend higher but we’d expect strong resistance from 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451 to limit upside to bring long term down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 0.7500 support will now be an important signal that such corrective rebound is completed.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD edged higher to 0.7275 last week but quickly retreated. Initial bias remains neutral this week first and further rise remains in favor as long as 0.7109 support holds. Above 0.7275 will extend the rise from 0.5506 to 0.7311 long term EMA. However, considering persistent bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 0.7109 support should confirm short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for correction towards 0.6776 support.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 0.5506 medium term bottom could be correcting whole long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Further rally would be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7311). This will remain the preferred case as long as it stays above 55 week EMA (now at 0.6817). However, sustained trading below 55 week EMA will turn focus back to 0.5506 low instead.

In the longer term picture, there is no change in the view that down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in progress. Such down trend could extend through 0.5506 low after completing the corrective rise from there. However, sustained break of 55 month EMA (now at 0.7311) will raise the chance of long term reversal and turn focus back to 0.8135 key resistance.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.5923; (P) 0.6036; (R1) 0.6113; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the downside at this point. We’d stay cautious on recovery from around 0.6008 key support. On the upside, break of 0.6186 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for rebound. However, sustained break of 0.6008 will pave the way to 161.8% projection of 0.7031 to 0.6433 from 0.6684 at 0.5716.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD’s decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still in progress. It’s part of the larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Prior rejection by 55 week EMA affirms medium term bearishness. 0.6008 (2008 low) is already met. Sustained break will target 0.5507 long term fibonacci projection level. Outlook will stay bearish as long as 0.6670 support turned resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound.

AUD/USD’s fall from 0.7031 is still in progress and intraday bias remains on the downside. Sustained break of 0.6754 support will confirm our bearish view. That is, corrective rebound from 0.6670 has completed with three waves up to 0.7031. Retest of 0.6670 low should be seen next. On the upside, break of 0.6849 support turned resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7082 resistance intact, there is no clear confirmation of trend reversal yet. That is, down trend from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still expect to continue to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, decisive break of 0.7082 will confirm medium term bottoming and bring stronger rally back to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7484).

AUD/USD Weekly Report

AUD/USD stayed in range of 0.6575/6713 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Further rally is in favor with 0.6578 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.6361 to 0.6713 at 0.6579) intact. On the upside, firm break of 0.6713 will resume whole rise from 0.6361 to 0.6870 resistance next. However, sustained break of 0.6578 will dampen this bullish view, and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 0.6495.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which could have completed at 0.6269 already. Rise from there is seen as the third leg which is now trying to resume through 0.6870 resistance.

In the long term picture, the down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. It’s unsure yet whether price actions from 0.5506 are developing into a corrective pattern, or trend reversal. But in either case, fall from 0.8006 is seen as the second leg of the pattern. Hence, in case of deeper decline, strong support should emerge above 0.5506 to bring reversal.

AUD/USD Mid-Day Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6866; (P) 0.6893; (R1) 0.6931; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD stays on the downside with focus on 0.6756/60 cluster fibonacci level. Strong support is still expected there to bring rebound. Break of 0.6918 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias back to the downside. However, sustained break of 0.6756/60 will carry larger bearish implication and target 0.6461 fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Strong support is expected from 50% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6756 to complete the pattern. This coincides with 100% projection of 0.8006 to 0.7105 from 0.7660 at 0.6760. However firm break of 0.6756/60 will raise the chance of bearish reversal and target 61.8% retracement at 0.6461.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6624; (P) 0.6671; (R1) 0.6699; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral with current retreat. On the upside, break of 0.6716 will resume the rebound from 0.6457 to 0.6817 key structural resistance. On the downside, though, break of 0.6578 minor support will retain near term bearishness, and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 0.6457 low instead.

In the bigger picture, rejection by 55 W EMA (now at 0.6811) keeps medium term outlook bearish. Current development suggests that down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high) is possibly still in progress. Retest of 0.6169 (2022 low) should be seen next. Firm break there will confirm down trend resumption. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 0.6817 resistance holds.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6460; (P) 0.6478; (R1) 0.6510; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral with current recovery, and some consolidations would be seen first. But outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.6621 resistance holds. Below 0.6442 will resume the fall from 0.6870 to 61.8% projection of 0.6870 to 0.6524 from 0.6621 at 0.6407. Firm break there will target 100% projection at 0.6275, which is close to 0.6269 support.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which might still be in progress. Overall, sideway trading could continue in range of 0.6169/7156 for some more time. But as long as 0.7156 holds, an eventual downside breakout would be mildly in favor.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD’s rebound from 0.6722 short term bottom extended higher last week. And despite loss of upside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD, there is no sign of topping yet. Initial bias remains mildly on the upside for further rally. But upside should be limited by 0.7393 resistance to bring reversal. On the downside, break of 0.7116 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 0.6722 low.

In the bigger picture, the failure to sustain below 0.6826 (2016 low) suggests that the long term down trend is not ready to resume yet. But prior rejection by 55 week EMA indicates underlying medium term bearishness in the pair. Outlook will also stay bearish as long as 0.7393 resistance holds. On the downside, sustained break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 (2008 low).

In the longer term picture, prior rejection by 55 month EMA maintained long term bearishness in AUD/USD. That is, down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in progress. Sustained break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 low and then 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD’s decline last week suggested that corrective recovery from 0.6864 has completed 0.7022, after rejection by 55 day EMA. Late breach of 0.6864 support argues that fall from 0.7295 is resuming. Initial bias stays on the downside this week. Sustained trading below 0.6864 will pave the way to 0.6722 low. On the upside, break of 0.6918 will delay the bearish case and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7393 key resistance intact, medium term outlook remains bearish. The decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high).

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7588; (P) 0.7622; (R1) 0.7650; More…

Despite today’s rebound in AUD/USD, 4 hours MACD is staying below sign line. Intraday bias is turned neutral first. As noted before, rebound from 0.7411 is seen as a correction. Hence, upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 0.8135 to 0.7144 at 0.7688. On the downside, below 0.7592 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 0.7475 first. Break there will likely resume larger fall through 0.7411 to 0.7328 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 0.6826 to 0.8135 at 0.7326). However, sustained break of 0.7688 will dampen our bearish view and target 61.8% retracement at 0.7585 instead.

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 is seen as a corrective move. Prior break of 0.7500 key support suggests that such correction is completed at 0.8135. Deeper decline would be seen back to retest 0.6826 low. In case of another rise, we’d expect strong resistance from 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451 to limit upside to bring long term down trend resumption eventually.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD edged higher to 0.7045 last week but retreated since then. Initial bias is neutral this week first. On the upside, break of 0.7045 will resume the rebound from 0.6680 to 0.7282 key resistance next. On the downside, however, break of 0.6858 minor support will argue that the rebound is over. Intraday bias will then be back on the downside for retesting 0.6680 low.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 (2021 high) is seen more as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Or it could be a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7282 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

In the long term picture, rejection by 0.8135 resistance suggests that the long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is not ready to reverse. Yet, the structure of the fall from 0.8006 still argues that it’s a corrective move. Hence, break of 0.5506 low is not envisaged for now. The long term outlook stays neutral first, and will be reassessed later after the fall from 0.8006 completes.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD edged higher to 0.7156 last week, but subsequent steep pull back indicates short term topping. Initial bias is now on the downside this week for 55 day EMA (now at 0.6806) and possibly below. But downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 0.6169 to 0.7156 at 0.6779 to bring rebound. On the upside, above 0.6994 minor resistance will turn bias neutral first. But overall, corrective pattern from 0.7156 should extend for a while.

In the bigger picture, corrective decline from 0.8006 (2021 high) should have completed with three waves down to 0.6169 (2022 low). Further rally should be seen to 61.8% retracement of 0.8006 to 0.6169 at 0.7304. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 0.8006. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.6721 support holds.

In the long term picture, current development suggests that fall from 0.8006 was merely a correction to the rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 0.7193) will raise the chance of up trend resumption through 0.8006 at a later stage.
