AUD/USD Weekly Report

AUD/USD’s rebound from 0.6361 continued last week despite interim pull back. Breach of 0.6643 resistance affirms the case that fall from 0.6870 has completed with three waves down to 0.6361. Initial bias stays on the upside this week for 100% projection of 0.6361 to 0.6585 from 0.6464 at 0.6688 next. For now, risk will stay on the upside as long as 0.6464 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which could still be in progress. Overall, sideway trading could continue in range of 0.6169/7156 for some more time. But as long as 0.7156 holds, an eventual downside breakout would be mildly in favor.

In the long term picture, the down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. It’s unsure yet whether price actions from 0.5506 are developing into a corrective pattern, or trend reversal. But in either case, fall from 0.8006 is seen the second leg of the pattern. Hence, in case of deeper decline, strong support should emerge above 0.5506 to bring reversal.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7411; (P) 0.7443; (R1) 0.7462; More…

The break of 0.7405 minor support confirmed that corrective rise from 0.7328 has completed at 0.7516. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for 0.7328 first. Break will extend the decline from 0.7748 to 0.7144/7158 support zone. However, break of 0.7516 resistance will now indicate near term reversal and turn bias back to the upside.

In the bigger picture, we’re still treating price actions from 0.6826 low as a corrective pattern. And, as long as 38.2% retracement of 0.9504 to 0.6826 at 0.7849 holds, long term down trend from 1.1079 is expected to resume sooner or later. Break of 0.6826 low will target 0.6008 key support level. However, firm break of 0.7849 will indicate that rise from 0.6826 is developing into a medium term rebound, rather than a sideway pattern. In such case, stronger rise should be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.8115) and above.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7468; (P) 0.7495; (R1) 0.7543; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 0.7411 is extending. Above 0.7566 will bring stronger recovery. But upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 0.8135 to 0.7144 at 0.7688 to bring decline resumption. On the downside, break of 0.7411 will resume the fall from 0.8135 and target cluster support at 0.7328 (61.8% retracement of 0.6826 to 0.8135 at 0.7326).

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 is seen as a corrective move. Decisive break of 0.7500 key support suggests that such correction is completed at 0.8135. Deeper decline would be seen back to retest 0.6826 low. In case of another rise, we’d expect strong resistance from 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451 to limit upside to bring long term down trend resumption eventually.

While AUD/USD’s retreat from 0.6713 extends lower, it’s staying above 0.6578 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.6361 to 0.6713 at 0.6579. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment, and further rally is in favor. As noted before, fall from 0.6870 has probably completed with three waves down to 0.6361 already. Above 0.6713 will target 0.6870 resistance next. However, firm break of 0.6578 will dampen this bullish view, and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 0.6495.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which could have completed at 0.6269 already. Rise from there is seen as the third leg which is now trying to resume through 0.6870 resistance.

AUD/USD Weekly Report

AUD/USD’s rally from 0.6361 resumed by breaking through 0.6713 resistance last week. Initial bias stays on the upside this week. Next target is 61.8% projection of 0.6361 to 0.6713 from 0.6619 at 0.6837. On the downside, below 0.6699 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But, near term outlook will stay bullish as long as 0.6619 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which could have completed at 0.6269 already. Rise from there is seen as the third leg which is now trying to resume through 0.6870 resistance..

In the long term picture, the down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. It’s unsure yet whether price actions from 0.5506 are developing into a corrective pattern, or trend reversal. But in either case, fall from 0.8006 is seen as the second leg of the pattern. Hence, in case of deeper decline, strong support should emerge above 0.5506 to bring reversal.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD’s rise from 0.6831 resumed last week by breaking 0.7047 resistance to 0.7082. As a temporary top was formed, initial bias is neutral this week first. Further rally is expected as long as 0.6996 minor support holds. Break ow 0.7082 will target 100% projection of 0.6831 to 0.7047 from 0.6910 at 0.7126. Sustained break there will indicate solid upside momentum for 0.7205 resistance next. On the downside, break of 0.6996 will suggest that the rebound has completed and turn bias to the downside for 0.6910 support instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7393 key resistance intact, medium term outlook remains bearish. The decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Decisive break of 0.6826 (2016 low) will confirm this bearish view and resume the down trend to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, firm break of 0.7393 will argue that fall from 0.8135 has completed. And corrective pattern from 0.6826 has started the third leg, targeting 0.8135 again.

In the longer term picture, prior rejection by 55 month EMA maintained long term bearishness in AUD/USD. That is, down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in progress. Sustained break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 low and then 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7184; (P) 0.7213; (R1) 0.7228; More…

Focus remains on 0.7199 support for AUD/USD. Decisive break there will suggest that the corrective rebound from 0.7020 has completed earlier than expected. Deeper fall should then be seen back to retest 0.7020 low. On the upside, above 0.7300 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside. In that case, corrective rise from 0.7020 would extend to 38.2% retracement of 0.8135 to 0.7020 at 0.7446 before completion.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom is in place at 0.7020 ahead of 0.6826 key support (2016 low). Stronger rebound might be seen to correct the whole fall from 0.8135 high. But we’d expect strong resistance from 0.7500 support turned resistance to limit upside. Medium term fall from 0.8135 should resume and extend to take on 0.6826 low at a later stage, after the correction from 0.7020 completes.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6687; (P) 0.6711; (R1) 0.6731; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral with current retreat and some consolidations could be seen first. But further rally is expected as long as 0.6539 support holds. As noted before, fall from 0.7156 could have completed with three waves down to 0.6269. Above 0.6734 will target 0.6894 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, there is no confirmation that down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high) has completed. Price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) could be just a medium term corrective pattern. Rise from 0.6269 is seen as the third leg of the pattern. For now, range trading should be seen between 0.6169 and 0.7156 (2023 high), until further developments.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral as it rebounded strongly after hitting 0.6330. But as long as 0.6510 resistance holds, another decline is still expected. Break of 0.6330 will resume larger fall from 0.7156 to 100% projection of 0.7156 to 0.6457 from 0.6894 at 0.6195 next. However, firm break of 0.6510 will confirm short term bottoming, and turn bias back to the upside.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high) is possibly still in progress. Decisive break of 0.6169 will target 61.8% projection of 0.8006 to 0.6169 to 0.7156 at 0.6021. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.6894, in case of strong rebound.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7266; (P) 0.7285; (R1) 0.7307; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, above 0.7303 will extend the corrective rise from 0.7084. But upside should be limited below 0.7361 resistance to complete the correction and bring down trend resumption. On the downside, below 0.7228 resistance turned support will turn bias back to the downside for 0.7143 first. Break there will likely resume larger fall from 0.8135 through 0.7084 low. However, sustained break of 0.7361 will carry larger bullish implication.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 0.6826 (2016 low) is seen as a corrective move that should be completed at 0.8135. Fall from there would extend to have a test on 0.6826. There is prospect of resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Current downside momentum as seen in weekly MACD support this bearish case. Firm break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 key support next (2008 low). On the upside, break of 0.7361 resistance, however, argues that a medium term bottom is possibly in place, and stronger rebound could follow. We’ll assess the medium term outlook later if this happens.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6913; (P) 0.6930; (R1) 0.6947; More…

AUD/USD drops to as low as 0.6892 today. 100% projection of 0.7295 to 0.7003 from 0.7205 at 0.6913 was breached but there is no follow through selling yet. Nevertheless, intraday bias remains on the downside for the moment. Sustained trading below 0.6913 should ideally bring downside acceleration to extend the fall from 0.7295 to retest 0.6722 low. On the upside, above 0.6959 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral for consolidations. But recovery should be limited by 0.6988/7069 resistance zone to bring fall resumption.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7553; (P) 0.7580; (R1) 0.7608; More…

AUD/USD continues to lose upside momentum as seen in bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD. With 0.7448 minor support intact, there is no confirmation of topping yet. But in case of another rise, we’d expect upside to be limited by 0.7777/7833 resistance zone to bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 0.7448 will indicate that rebound from 0.7158 is completed and turn bias back to the downside for 0.7144 key support level.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD is staying inside long term falling channel and it’s likely that the down trend from 1.1079 is still in progress. Break of 0.6826 low will confirm this bearish case. We’ll be looking for bottoming sign again as it approaches 0.6008 key support level. Meanwhile, sustained break of 0.7833 resistance will be a strong sign of medium term reversal.

AUD/USD is staying in consolidation from 0.6363 and intraday bias remains neutral. Another recovery cannot be ruled out, but upside should be limited by 0.6615 resistance. Break of 0.6363 will resume larger fall from 0.7156 to 100% projection of 0.7156 to 0.6457 from 0.6894 at 0.6195.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high) is still in progress. Decisive break of 0.6169 will target 61.8% projection of 0.8006 to 0.6169 to 0.7156 at 0.6021. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.6894, in case of strong rebound.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

AUD/USD is still bounded in range of 0.7605/7740 for the moment. Intraday bias stays neutral at this point. Another rise cannot be ruled out. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, upside should be limited by 0.7777/7833 resistance zone and bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 0.7605 support will indicate that rise from 0.7158 has completed already and turn bias back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.7559) first.

In the bigger picture, we’re still treating price actions from 0.6826 low as a correction. In such case, stronger rise should be seek to 55 month EMA (now at 0.8186) and above.

AUD/USD 4 Hours Chart

AUD/USD Daily Chart

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD dropped to as low as 0.7279 last week and the break of 0.7309 low finally indicates resumption of down trend from 0.8135. Initial bias stays on the downside this week for 61.8% projection of 0.7676 to 0.7309 from 0.7452 at 0.7225 first. Break will target 100% projection at 0.7085 next. On the upside, above 0.7347 minor resistance will turn intraday bias and bring consolidation. But recovery should be limited below 0.7452 resistance to bring fall resumption.

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 (2016 low) is seen as a corrective move that should be completed at 0.8135. Sustained break of 0.7328 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 0.6826 to 0.8135 at 0.7326) should pave the way to retest 0.6826. There is prospect of resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). But we’ll look at downside momentum to assess at a later stage. On the upside, break of 0.7452 resistance might indicate medium term bottoming. But we’ll continue to favor the bearish view as long as 0.7676 resistance holds.

In the longer term picture, rebound from 0.682 (2016 low) should have completed at 0.8135 already. Failure to reach 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 (2011 high) to 0.6826 at 0.8451 carries bearish implications. This is also supported by the corrective structure from 0.6826 to 0.8135, as well as the rejection by 55 month EMA. The down trend from 1.1079 is in favor to extend. On break of 0.6826, next target will be 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6716; (P) 0.6733; (R1) 0.6754; More….

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral first and further fall is expected as long as 0.6774 resistance holds. On the downside, decisive break of 0.6670 low would confirm larger down trend resumption. However, on the upside, break of 0.6774 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD’s decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still in progress. It’s part of the larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Rejection by 55 week EMA affirms medium term bearishness. Next target is 0.6008 (2008 low). Outlook will stay bearish as long as 0.7031 resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD rebounded strongly after initial dip to 0.7164 last week. Initial bias is mildly on the upside this week for 0.7440 resistance. Break there will resume whole rise from 0.6966 to 0.7555 resistance. Decisive break there should confirm that whole corrective decline from 0.8006 has completed at 0.6966. On the downside, below below 0.7301 minor support will turn bias neutral first. But further rally will remain in favor as long as 0.7164 support holds.

In the bigger picture, focus remains on 0.6991 key structural support. Sustained break there will argue that the whole up trend from 0.5506 might be finished at 0.8006, after rejection by 0.8135 long term resistance. Deeper decline would then be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461. Meanwhile, strong rebound from 0.6991 will retain medium term bullishness. That is, whole up trend from 0.5506 is still in progress for another rise through 0.8006 at a later stage.

In the longer term picture, focus remains on 0.8135 structural resistance. Decisive break there will argue that rise from 0.5506 is developing into a long term up trend that reverses whole down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). However, rejection by 0.8135 will keep long term outlook neutral at best.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD continued to stay in range of 0.6372/6569 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Rebound from 0.5506 might still extend higher. But considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, upside should be limited by 0.6670 key resistance, at least on first attempt. on the downside, break of 0.6372 should indicate confirm short term reversal and bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.6569 at 0.6163 first.

In the bigger picture, there is no clear sign of trend reversal yet. The larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in favor to extend. 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507 is already met. Sustained break there will pave the way to 0.4773 (2001 low). On the upside, however, sustained break of 0.6607 will suggest medium term bottoming and turn focus to 0.7031 resistance next.

In the longer term picture, down trend from 1.1079 (2011) is still in progress. It’s a bit early to judge the depth of the down trend. But sustained break of 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507 could pave the way to 100% projection at 0.3882.

Outlook in AUD/USD remains unchanged as corrective recovery from 0.6433 is in progress. We’d continue to expect strong resistance from 0.6662 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement from 0.7031 to 0.6433 at 0.6661) to limit upside. Break of 0.6509 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 0.6433 low. Nevertheless, break of 0.6662 will bring stronger corrective rise to 61.8% retracement at 0.6803.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7503; (P) 0.7524; (R1) 0.7546; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 0.7500 temporary low. Upside of recovery should be limited below 0.7652 resistance to bring fall resumption. Break of 0.7500 will extend the fall from 0.8124 and target 0.7322/8 cluster support next.

In the bigger picture, corrective rise from 0.6826 medium term bottom is likely completed at 0.8124, after hitting 55 month EMA (now at 0.8029). Decisive break of 0.7328 key cluster support (61.8% retracement 0.6826 to 0.8124 at 0.7322) will confirm. And in that case, long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) will likely be resuming. Break of 0.6826 will target 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8124 at 0.5496. This will now be the favored case as long as 0.7732 near term resistance holds.
