Speculative long positions fell -4 689 contracts and short positions slipped -2 266 contracts. Concerning European currencies, NET SHORT for EUR futures dropped -259 contracts to 75 154. NET SHORT for GBP futures slipped -267 contracts to 72 952. Traders trimmed their bets on both euro and British pound as Brexit is again under the spotlight.
On safe-haven currencies, Net SHORT for CHF futures gained +1 719 contracts to 12 766. JPY futures drifted to NET SHORT of 6 641 contracts. Risk appetite improved amidst optimism on US-China trade negotiations. On commodity currencies, NET SHORT for AUD futures added +661 contracts to 47 605. Speculative long positions dropped -1 166 contracts while shorts slid -505 contracts. Separately, NET SHORT for NZD rose 1 946 contracts to 40 163 contracts last week. NET LENGTH for CAD futures jumped +7 648 contracts to 12 961.
